Obsessive? Me? never...

Not much anyway. :o)

I was looking up an address on google maps earlier, and found myself then checking out where the Mills and Boon HQ is in Richmond, and then, oh the joy - it's been streetmapped! You can actually move the little yellow man thingy and see the building!!
I spent a few happy minutes twizzling the camera up and down the street and looking at the building from one side and then the other - I am easily amused, obviously.
Have to admit to being a smidge (unreasonably) disappointed at the lack of glamour though, think I expected more razzmatazz and roses-around-the-door romance to exude from it.
I did get a little thrill when I read the door plate though. It exists! And my manuscript is in there, albeit virtually...

Have painted my nails bright blue today to stop myself from biting them. Thank you Michelle. x

  1. You know that I'm going to do that too - don't you? No, not the blue nails, but the google street map! Why hadn't I thought of that? Well done Joanne! Hours of time wasting fun x

  4. Oh and I agree - it's not AT ALL how a house of romance should look! At the very least it should be painted pink with silver hearts all over it or something :)

  6. Oh no, how funny! But I can't laugh... I'm visiting London in September and I'm considering going to visit (ie take a photo of me outside and run - not actually go inside or anything - argh!).

  7. Good luck with the book, Joanne. And yes, the building is a bit ordinary although it is in Paradise Road! But the people inside are fabulous.

  8. Good luck with the MS Joanne! I'll admit to watching the TV one-off about "How To Write a M&B" with Stella Duffy 13 times and counting. If you've seen it then you'll know they go to the M&B HQ - and it does seem ordinary. But as Liz say's - it's who's inside that matters. Caroline x

  10. lol Leah, I think that would trump me in the stalker stakes - you MUST do it!

Hello Liz! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your good wishes, it's really appreciated. Paradise Rd sounds fabulous doesn't it? I wonder if they chose it specifically, lol!

    Hey Carloline :o)
I saw that when they screened it as part of their celebrations last year, would love to catch it again and watch it with fresh eyes now i've actually subbed. You've set me a new mission to find it again now!

Hiya Jackie - a girls gotta dream, right? ;o)

  11. It os a 60s monstrosity but inside the people are lovely. I always enjoy going there. The receptionist on the desk is fantastic. Andthen there are the books... Everyone is encouraged to read. The editors were v kind when I was there in May and got me two books that my daughter was desperate for... Across the street is the most fantastic tea shop btw. Carol Townend and I had a cup of earl grey before I went for my annual lunch...

  14. Hi,

There's an award on my blog, and if you'd like it help yourself! It was awarded to me by a French fan of mine (who bought one of my books years ago).

According to the credentials required to receive it, you pass with flying colours. It's a gorgeous looking award, but cannot be passed-on willy-nilly.

  16. Are you "stalking" M&B via Google Maps, lol?

Looking forward to meeting you soon at the RNA conference. You are going, aren't you? I didn't imagine that?? Or did I? (It's this heat ...)
