Yikes!

My chapters up on iheartpresents http://www.iheartpresents.com/2010/01/harlequin-presents-writing-competition-2009-runner-up-joanne-pibworths-first-chapter/
(if anyone can tell me how to replace that ridiculously long link with a word i'd be very glad - i'm SO bad with computers it's embarrassing.)
It feels really odd to see my words on there! It's completely nerve wracking wondering what people will make of it.

No word back yet on my revisions, but it's only been a couple of days so that's no shocker is it? I'm too impatient.
I've decided to just carry on writing as if they've said yes and hope for the best.
What's the worst that can happen? They could say no of course, but no writing's a waste is it? ( I think I may have read that over on Jackie Ashenden's blog this morning, it's sooooo right!).

Am off now to chew my nails....

  4. Thankyou girls, you rock! I think it might be a bit steamy for some tastes, I don't know... still, it's mega exciting having it up over there.
Every time i click on there i hold my breath in case there's a new comment!

  7. Hi Francine, it's fab to see you here! Thanks for getting the ball rolling with your lovely comment over on iheartpresents. x

Hello Rachael! Thank you, I'm very glad you enjoyed it - I reckon it's a night time read rather than a breakfast one for sure!
Yup, it's my first attempt. I've wanted to have a go forever, but this was the first time i'd had a proper go at writing. It was my second chapter - I wrote one a first one which was spectacularly bad, and then had a panic and re-wrote it again. Thankfully! It's exciting stuff to place, just hope I can get it right from here on in. x

  13. Hi Lucy! thank you.
The words of the day have def been 'hot & steamy' - my husbands read it for the first time today too and i'm ridiculously nervous at what he might think about his wife writing smut! lol!
It's been a fun day, it feels a bit like Christmas with all of the lovely comments. :o)

  14. Re your link question, you type and whatever you write next is the word or words people will click on, which you MUST follow with this .

That example may not work, because it may try to interpret it as HTML, and therefore make my typing invisible. Let's see.

  15. It didn't work. Okay, here it is with SPACES. But remember, there should be NO SPACES in your version, except where mentioned.

Open your link with < followed by a followed by a single space followed by href= followed by your link beginning http://www etc

After you've finished typing the whole url, close that with >

Then immediately type the word or words you want peeps to click on.

Then close the whole link with < followed by / followed by a followed by >

Try that. Hope it was clear.

  16. That a is indeed an 'a', by the way. Or an A. Either should work.

  17. Just had an idea. This might work better. Just remove the plus signs.

    <+a+ href=+http://+ full url+>INSERT PREFERRED LINK WORD(S)<+/+a+>
